Junior Linux Engineer - Castlepoint

Casthepoint is an Australian SMW based in Canberra, offering an AI-based compliance automation product for Records and Information Management. Castlepoint automatically registers, reads, classifies and links information across large datasets. It also does discovery, audit and automated application of regulatory rules for information handling, retention and security. Castlepoint is looking for a Junior Engineer to join the team. This is a full time, flexible, ongoing role, based in Canberra. Part time will be considered.

Why a junior Linux Engineer?
A - The Linux Engineer is the key resource for system implementation and sustainment. You will learn from our CTO and other senior resources, so that you can manage the installation and patching processes of the Castlepoint product, and assist with reporting, monitoring, security, container workload management, and scripting. You will engage with our government and commercial clients, and be a trusted member of the BAU team. You will also be involved in developing new capabilities, automation, and enhancements with our platform, using microservices in a containerized, highly available architecture, both on premises and in the cloud.

 

How much experience do I need?
A – You do not need prior work experience, as this is a graduate role.  However, we expect you to have completed undergraduate Computer Science or Engineering studies at University, and be familiar with Linux-type servers.

 

Anything else?
A - You must be an Australian citizen, and you will need to pass a Police check.

  • Undertake deployment validation 
  • Produce implementation documentation 
  • Manage and support servers 
  • Monitor servers 
  • Troubleshoot issues
  • Design and develop automations for deployment and sustainment 
  • Develop improved procedures 
  • Research problems and issues 


 

Qualifications:
Relevant University or equivalent degree in technology or engineering (essential)
Relevant Linux-related vendor certification/s (desirable)
Relevant change management certifications such as ITIL (desirable)
Australian Citizenship and Police check.

 

When do I start
A – This role is recruiting now for an immediate start, however we can be flexible with start date for those completing studies this semester.
