Master of Computing

Explore Your Future

Please Note: International student applications for this program have now closed for the Semester 1 (February) 2020 intake.

The Master of Computing is a two year full-time (or equivalent part-time) degree that provides students with exposure to best practice in computing and cutting edge courses in areas of relevance to computing practitioners.

Students will choose to specialise/major in one of the following areas, artificial intelligence, computer systems, computational foundations, information and human centred computing or software engineering.

The program provides professional development for practicing computing professionals, including the development of excellent English written and oral communication skills in the ICT context. Opportunities to undertake research of personal or professional relevance are also available.

Students with outstanding results (70 per cent or above) in their first year may apply to undertake a six-month (24 units) Computing Research Project. This provides students with a pathway to study a PhD and the opportunity to undertake research in a field of personal or professional relevance.

Computing project (12 units)

The computing project is completed in the student's final year of study and may be completed as an individual research project in a single semester or as a group project over two consecutive semesters. Students completing the group project take part in the ANU innovative TechLauncher program.

This program is professionally accredited by the Australian Computer Society.
