Description

Please note, this is and external project supervised by Dr Andrew Thomson. Please contact Andrew directly if you are interested in this project: Andrew.Thomson@cwprenewables.com.

Pricing of bifacial (bifi) panels is such that soon they will be competitive with conventional mono-facial. Until the bifi pricing truly matches the mono-facial panels, solar farm owners must rely on bifi yield improvements which add an additional level of risk to Solar Farm planning/financing/operations.

You will investigate methods for estimating the bifacial resource of a solar farm. Along with field measurements you will also design a bifi monitoring station which will measure the rear albedo irradiance on CWPs solar monitoring stations located throughout NSW.

Requirements

Competences in programming, hardware design, and renewables are all useful.
