3D Interaction Techniques for Immersive Data Engagement

Description

Emerging areas in data science such as augmented and virtual reality and new methods in data complexity reduction offer opportunities to explore highly dimensional and data rich domains and derive new knowledge. This project will explore new forms of immersive interaction techniques that assist researchers in navigating, filtering and understanding large genomics data sets. Initial application areas include agriculture and cancer research.

Goals

Explore existing immersive data platforms/interactions. Develop new AR/VR interaction techniques. Investigate effectiveness of new interaction techniques.
