Dr Mahesh Venkataraman

2013-2014:        Post-doctoral Fellow, C2E2, University of Connecticut, USA.

2009-2013:        Ph.D., Monash University, Australia.

2008-2009:        Graduate Trainee, Tata Steel, Jamshedpur, India.

2004-2008:        B.Tech. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, IIT Kanpur, India.

His research interests include high temperature oxidation, molten salt corrosion, degradation mechanisms in SOFCs, solar driven thermo-chemical processes and energy storage. His current research focusses on utilization of solar energy and other renewable energy resources for power generation, production of solar fuels, and investigating materials compatibility in concentrated solar power systems. Design and testing of lab-scale prototype systems are currently underway for demonstration of feasibility and mechanistic understanding of solar thermal processes, which have the potential to provide major technological boost to the commercialization of solar thermal technology in Australia.
