Duane Findley is the newly appointed interim General Manager of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the Australian National University (ANU).
Duane has completed a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Sydney and an MBA in Finance & International Management from the University of Technology Sydney. With his extensive experience in senior leadership, Duane brings a high level of expertise to the position, particularly in governance, professional services and organisational culture.
Duane’s passion truly lies in people. He has most recently held the positions of CEO at the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP), as well as New South Wales State Manager at the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). In these roles, Duane has been able to radically shift the culture of the organisation through the encouragement of calculated risk taking in a “no-blame” environment, promotion of open and respectful conversation, and the collective contribution to a larger vision. By focusing on identifying individual strengths in team members and creating training and development programs for staff, Duane was able to reduce staff turnover and ultimately produce deliverables that exceeded expectation.
Duane continues to expand his repertoire of expertise; having recently completed the Company Directors Course from AICD. In parallel with being passionate about people, Duane is dedicated to giving back to the community as he routinely contributes his time to various charities, boards and community work.
