Scholar for Solar Sustainability in Sunny Arizona - Student Travel Video
Check out this awesome video made by student Sarah Callinan on her recent study trip to Arizona State University!
In my 4th year of a double degree in Engineering and Business Administration, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Arizona State University to take part in the first Grand Challenge Scholars Program Entrepreneurial Experience: Sustainability.
My trip was funded by the College of Engineering and Computer Science and allowed me to explore the intersection of my degrees.
During the program I worked in a small team forming a start-up that aimed to deal with the issue of waste from decommissioned solar panels; a real problem I had never considered before.
I met some of the most brilliant people I have ever met on the program, from around the USA and the world, many of whom I now count as close friends!
It can be really easy to think that starting a business is so out of reach, something to do when we are older, richer, or less busy. Now, it all feels far less out of reach, and I am more motivated than ever to take the ideas I have and make them a reality!
