Engineering positive impact with Dr Jeremy Smith

Dr Jeremy Smith is a Reimagine Fellow, focusing on the creation of an Engineering Positive Impact Hub – the E+i Hub.

This E+i Hub will explore new approaches to harness the potential of engineering, computing and technology to contribute to long-lasting positive human impact.  It aims to be a space for connections, building collaborations across the ANU campus and with external groups for education, research and outreach.  These partnerships provide expertise and resources for impact across well-being, education, economic participation and social inclusion.  The E+i Hub will nurture and support shared journeys and shared values for the use of engineering and technology to strengthen quality of life for all.

This seminar will provide a background on existing initiatives, particularly the emerging area of Humanitarian Engineering.  It will outline the motivation for the development of the E+i Hub, proposed ways of working, and opportunities for growth and impact.  It is an invitation to be involved with the design of the E+i Hub over the next 12 months.
