Join our 2018 International Summer School to find out more about the life in Canberra and at ANU, and how studying engineering or computer science at ANU will give you a competitive edge.

The details of the 2018 International Summer School - ANU College Engineering and Computer Science are as follows:

Dates: Sunday 21 January 2018 to Saturday 3 February 2018 

Theme: Smart Cities

The underlying theme will be the creation of smart cities, wherein we apply innovative technology-based solutions to urban challenges, with a view to improving their liveability, productivity and sustainability.

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate students
  • Currently pursuing an academic program at a university or equivalent, that is eligible to transfer into our engineering or computing degrees (related disciplines).
  • Preference given to students from our partner universities

Academic requirements: Students must demonstrate a 'credit' GPA of 5.0/7.0 (or very similar) in order to be eligible for consideration.

Cost

Cost of the program has been subsidised by ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science

Program Cost: AUD$1700. Cost inclusive of

  • Tuition fee;
  • Academic activities;
  • 13 nights of accommodation;
  • 11 days of meals (Meals not provided on Saturday 27 January & Sunday 28 January);
  • Transport within Canberra;
  • Sightseeing and other scheduled social activities.

Accommodation: Students will be provided with catered on-campus accommodation in one of ANU student residences.

International Travel: Cost does not include air fares, visa application fees or insurance. Students are responsible for the cost of their own round trip air fares, visa and insurance.

Visa information: International students should apply for an Australian visitor visa (note: not an international student visa). The short duration and academic status of the Summer School means that it falls under the conditions of a visitor visa, as detailed by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

Selection basis

Applicants are assessed on the responses to the statement of purpose in addition to their academic transcript.

Program Capacity: 40 students. Up to 5 per ANU College Engineering and Computer Science partner university
