Build and program your own Lego robot

A Lego Mindstorms robot

This activity has been cancelled, following the University’s announcement to cancel all public and social events until 20 June 2020. This is a precautionary measure to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading among our community. For more information, see the VC’s update or contact marketing.cecs@anu.edu.au.

The ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science is hosting a series of free workshops designed for primary school students in years 3-6 and their parents and carers. These hands on workshops will introduce participants to exciting concepts in a fun and educational way and provide many opportunities to have their questions answered about engineering, computing and technology.

In this workshop, students, parents and carers will be introduced to Lego Mindstorms robots and their components before commencing a programming tutorial. After gaining skills in programming and problem solving, groups will be challenged to program a robot to successfully complete an obstacle course and other challenges.

Presented by the Canberra chapter of Robogals, a student-run organisation that aims to increase student participation in engineering, science and technology through fun and educational initiatives.
