Block to the Future is a summit attracting leading national scholars, professionals and entrepreneurs currently working with blockchain or eager to learn about its disruptive influence on industry. Expert speakers will examine the application of blockchain as an emerging, and potentially disruptive technology in the fields of: trust & governance, democracy & fintech.

Held at the Law Futures Centre, Griffith University, Southbank in the heart of Brisbane, this event is brought to you by the Association of Professional Futurists & Griffith University Law Futures Centre.

7-10.00pm: Keynote presentation held over dinner at The Charming Squire

Genevieve Bell is a Distinguished Professor and the Director of the Autonomy, Agency and Assurance (3A) Institute at the Australian National University and inaugural Florence Violet McKenzie Chair at the ANU and a Vice President and Senior Fellow at Intel Corporation, where she most recently served as their chief futurist. Genevieve is this year’s Boyer lecturer.

Saturday comprises 3 parts:

7-8.30am: An 'Introduction to Blockchain' breakfast at the Queensland Museum hosted by Rob Hanson, Senior Research Consultant at CSIRO’s Data61

9am-12.30pm: Keynote presentions from leading influencers in the Blockchain at the Arts Precinct of Griffith University Southbank

1.30pm-5pm: Panel discussions in: Trust and Governance, Democracy and Fintech.
