World of Drones Congress

 

Since its inception in 2017, the World of Drones Congress has attracted more than 2,500 drone operators, researchers, application developers and users from around the world.

This years' Congress theme Real Business and Opportunity in the Global Drone Economy will focus on the use of drones for Business, Urban, First Response, Defence, Safety, Land Use, Education and Culture.

Lieutenant Colonel Keirin Joyce, CSC

LTCOL Joyce is an Australian Defence Force Academy graduate with an Honours Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering

LTCOL Joyce has spent the last 13 years in support of the Army Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) capability including deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan. LTCOL Joyce is a Chartered Professional Engineer, holds a Masters in Aviation Management (specialising in Human Factors), a Masters of Aerospace Engineering, a Masters in Military and Defence Studies, a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education (Mathematics) and he is currently researching part time as a Doctorate of Philosophy student through ADFA.

LTCOL Joyce is the Australian Army UAS Sub-Program Manager responsible for all Australian Army UAS activities.

LTCOL Joyce will be part of the National Drone Defence Industries Forum.

SCHOLARSHIPS TO ATTEND THE WORLD OF DRONES CONGRESS

The World of Drones Congress is offering 20 scholarships to cover the full registration fee to attend the WoDC in Brisbane, Australia on the 26th and 27th of September, 2019. Travel, accommodation and associated expenses are to be covered by the scholarship recipient.

People interested in applying to the scholarship must be aged between 18-35 and need to explain why they will make the most of the scholarship and how they will add value to the drone and STEM community.

THE WORLD OF DRONES CONGRESS AT AUVSI XPONENTIAL IN USA

WoDC's convener Dr Catherine Ball will represent the congress and Queensland as a drone user destination at the AUVSI XPONENTIAL Conference and Exhibition in Chicago, USA, from Monday 29 April to Thursday 2 May.

The conference is hosted by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International and it's one of the most comprehensive trade show for unmanned and autonomous systems, bringing together 8,500 technologists, regulators and users across commercial and defence sectors.

WoDC's representatives will held meetings to promote Queensland as the world's best drone destination with gatherings supported by Austrade in Toronto and New York City.
