Summer Internship with Scholarship - IT Project Assistant

Program Background
Horticulture Innovation Australia has identified a need to build capacity in people in the horticultural industry to ensure the development of leaders for the industry in the future. The two key objectives of this project are to:
1. Increase graduate interest in careers across theAustralian horticulture sector.
2. Build a new pool of industry leaders and create networksof young professionals to drive further innovation acrossthe sector.
 
Who Can Apply (Selection Criteria)
Only students can apply if they meet the following criteria;•Have an open mind to a new/different industry and challenges; be genuinely willing to explore horticulture as a career option.•Ability and willingness to live and work rurally.•Have passion, drive and motivation.•Studying a course which is relevant to the position and be able to be covered under their university's insurance program while complying with the relevant Fair Work Australia standards. •Be a student at the time of the internship and capable of completing their current studies (i.e. completed all previous years and enough credits to graduate) by the end of 2018.•Be able to commit to full time employment after graduating for a minimum of 12 months.•Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.

IT Project Assistant - Role Brief
Australian Fresh Leaf Herbs are looking for a IT Project Assistant to assist with the roll out of their newly developed Farming Management cloud-based application. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the graduate will assist in testing the software, business analysis and UAT whilst working with the key users (farming team and procurement team) and liaising back to our developers.
 
Project Report
At the end of the program, we would expect the graduate to develop the Standard Operating Procedure for the new system and assist in overseeing full deployment across the farm.
 
Preferred Course / Study of Applicants
IT&C or equivalent
 
Section or division of the business the student will work in:
The IT position will work within the commercial division of the business, liaising closely with the Executive Director to execute the projects.
 
Location of the internship
This position will be based In Melbourne’s South East Suburbs, approximately 30 minutes from the city.

Ideal Timing
3 Month internship undertaken between November 2017 and February 2018.
 
Work Hours Expected
38 hours per week, 8am – 4pm. Flexible hours during semester are negotiable for the right candidate.

Drivers Licence
Required – public transport is not convenient.

Payment to Student
$8,000 over the 3-month internship period in 3 Instalments.
