A paid Work Experience opportunity exists for Software Engineering students with Rollercoaster Digital in Semester 2, 2017 and into the Summer break.
Junior Front End Developer
Description of work and tasks
You’ll be developing a front end web application for a local client, using an existing Proof of Concept as a starting point to produce a high quality, responsive and beautiful user interface. The application will be used by organisations and the general public, with potential for this application to be deployed to a wider user base.
The existing PoC was developed in Angular 1.4 using Gulp, Bower and RequireJS, but if you want to use the latest technologies like Angular 2 or React, you’ll have the freedom to do so. You’ll be working under the direction of a senior systems engineer with 5+ years full stack development experience, but you’ll be the arms and legs of the operation.

This project will be working in two development periods with different time commitments. We expect a commitment of approximately 15h/wk over a 5 month development period (20/08/2017 - 15/01/2018) and an increased commitment to around 24h/wk over a deployment and testing period (16/01/2018 - 06/03/2018).
Note that we are flexible regarding work location and time. You’re welcome to work from our office in Fyshwick or from your preferred location, and we don’t require you to stick to 9-5, Mon-Fri office hours.
