Enrolling in CECS Courses

ANU students

When you study at ANU, one of your responsibilities is to manage your study program and enrol in courses. The following information provides more detail on enrolling in CECS courses.

Enrol for the first time as a coursework student

New students must enrol before the second teaching week in the semester or by the last day to enrol in the course in a non-standard session. More information on enrolling for the first time as a coursework student can be found here.

Re-enrol

Current and continuing coursework and non-award students must re-enrol themselves for each academic year by the appropriate deadline. More information on re-enrolment can be found here.

Permission Codes

The online permission code request form is now open!

CLICK HERE - Permission Code Request Form

Please use the online permission code request form to apply for permission codes for the upcoming Summer, Semester 1, Autumn sessions.

The form will close on Monday of Week 1, 21 February 2022, and reopen again in June for Winter, Semester 2, Spring sessions.

A permission code is a unique code issued to a student that overrides course requisites, allowing them to enrol in a course.

Some courses have restrictions to ensure that students meet specific requirements before enrolling. These requirements are usually listed under the ‘Requisite and Incompatibility’ section of the course page on Program and Courses. Students who do not meet the listed requisites but can demonstrate learning and understanding through previous study or professional experience can apply for a permission code.
