Position description:

This is a junior career opportunity to work with a team of dedicated software engineers developing a new safety management software – AI Safety system.

AI Safety is a software which connects to CCTV or mobile devices. It uses AI technology to detect workplaces hazards.Reporting to a senior software engineer, you will support the development, delivery and support of AI Safety system. As the junior developer of a professional team in a start up company. You will support the business to raise standards in key operational and strategic decision areas through:

·      Strong creative and analytical skills

·      Good technical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to efficiently communicate complex ideas and requirements

We are seeking people who have:

·      Post/undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering

·      Experience in programming, Windows and web application development using C#, .NET, and SQL, as well as some or all of ASP.NET, JavaScript, Angular, Typescript and Python. Experience with containerised software development using Docker or Kubernetes.

·      Sound knowledge of PostgreSQL database architecture and design, storage and access methods, query design, security, deployment, administration, optimisation, performance tuning and capacity planning.

·      Experience with Agile software development, CI/CD using Visual Studio, Azure DevOps and git, and software orchestration using Octopus Deploy or Ansible or similar.

Citizenship requirements: 

·      Australian PR or Citizen

Eligible cohort of students: 

·      Final year Computer Science or Software Engineering

Hours per week and the duration of the opportunity:

·      20 hrs/ week (flexible work arrangement with regard to study/ exam timetables)

Location of the work:

·      Canberra CBD

Pay rate/basis of payment:

·      Negotiable
