There is one internship project on offer from ANU Information Technology Services (ITS).

Project -   Student First - Transforming the ANU Student Experience

Get involved in an exciting program that’ll transform the university’s Learning & Teaching and Student Experience at ANU!  

Our Student First Program is focused on improving the end-to-end student experience, from application to graduation. Multiple projects sit within this program and will require a broad range of skills from Computer Science, Business and the Humanities.  

Multiple positions available. Work within each project will be tailored to the skill sets of the intern(s) selected.

Short program description:

ANU is embarking on a 10-year digital transformation to ultimately, improve the student experience across learning and teaching and student services. This will include the processes, systems and technologies that are used by both staff and students, centrally and across colleges.

The Student First program, will set the foundation for this, providing insight and incremental improvements across ANU to create a study and learning environment where students feel they belong and can thrive.

Required technical skills

Interaction Design, HCI, Prototyping, Wireframing, UX/ UI and research skills are desirable

Required/preferred professional and other skills

   A broad range of skills are being sought after in this program and include, but are not limited to:

   - Human Centred Design

   - Human Computer Interaction (HCI)

   - Change Management

   - Business Analysis

   - Service Design

   - User Experience/ User Interface design (UX/ UI)

   - Low fidelity and high fidelity prototyping

   - Front end development

   - Graphic Design

   - Application of Social Science research methods to a technology context

How to apply

Applications are invited from eligible students to apply for the Computing Internship courses COMP3280 or COMP8830. Eligibility details of COMP3280COMP8830 and further information about the Computing Internship can be found on the Computing Internship page

  1. Eligible students can apply through the Computing Internship application form which will be available via the Computing Internship page between 10 May and 17 May. You can nominate multiple preferred Internship projects and host organisations through the one online application form. 
  2. Eligibility and Room Available in degree to undertake COMP3280/COMP8830 will be assessed at the time of application.  If you do not meet the eligibility criteria or do not have room in your degree to fit COMP3280/COMP8830, your application will not be progressed.
  3. Your application will require you to upload the following documents:
  • an updated copy of your Resume, and
  • an Expression of Interest (limit 350 words) for each organisation you wish to apply to (for organisations with multiple projects only submit one Expression of Interest but state clearly which project/s you wish to be considered for).

Round 2 Applications open on Tuesday 10 May 2022 and close on Tuesday 17 May 2022.
