Casual Software Engineer - CSIRO

Position Description

A casual software engineering opportunity has become available at CSIRO Agriculture and Food.

At CSIRO Agriculture & Food we are developing platforms to enable cutting edge research in plant science, from genomics to food processing. We are seeking enthusiastic casual software engineers to contribute to frontend development of plantSTEM, a web based platform that supports the tracking and integration of research processes in our business unit. As part of our team, you'll write code to support and enable research around the world, and get insight into research data practices.

You will get:

  • ~$40/hr
  • Desk at CSIRO Black Mountain (with flexibility to work elsewhere)

Experience and skills

Required:

  • JavaScript (NodeJS, JQuery)
  • Web Front End: HTML5, CSS3 (Bootstrap)
  • Backend: DBMS/ORM, MySQL
  • Git
  • Ability to work independently towards team goals
  • Willingness to learn

Desirable:

  • EmberJS, MochaJS, Handlebars, any other JS frameworks
  • JIRA
