Casual Position Available: Programmer

To work on: "To be continued: The Australian Newspaper Fiction Database", with Associate Professor Katherine Bode in the School of Literature Languages and Linguistics, ANU.

Starting date: March 2018.

Initial duration: part time, up to three months with potential extension.

Description:

Associate Professor Katherine Bode is seeking to employ a programmer to work on "To be continued: The Australian Newspaper Fiction Database" (http://cdhrdatasys.anu.edu.au/tobecontinued/).

Some of the technical components of the projects include:

• Developing database, search, authentication/authorization, data import/export functions, and web interfaces

• Applying frameworks and design patterns in programming

• System testing

Essential  technical skills:

PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, PHP Frameworks

Desirable technical skills:

Yii, System testing, XSLT, CSS, Wordpress,  Python
