Australian Institute of Health and Welfare Internship

Two paid Semester 2, 2017 Internship Opportunities exist with the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW).

The AIHW is an Australian Government agency that produces authoritative and interesting reports, and other information products, on key health and welfare issues in Australia. One of our primary roles is to collect, analyse and report information drawn from health services, community services and housing assistance services.
Data is the core resource of the Institute. In doing our work, we collaborate closely and have effective data partnerships with many experts from around Australia, including the Australian Bureau of Statistics, governments at all levels, universities, research centres, and non-government organisations.

Project 1: Chronic Conditions Workplan – Internship opportunity in the Population Health and Primary Care Unit.

Project 2: Data Internship within the Indigenous and Children’s Group.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents; and
- Hae Elective space within their academic program to complete a 6-12 unit Internship (note that this internship will be completed concurrently with normal university courses).

- Provide your CV and the contract details of two referees.
- Ensure your CV contains your individual email address and phone number for AIHW to contact you directly.
- Include the course name and code for which you have been approved to gain credit for, including some information about the assessment you need to undertake (if you are a CECS student or another student using an elective to undertake this Internship, you can enrol using COMP3820 for Bachelor degrees or COMP8755 for Masters degrees).
- Include information on whether you are an Australian citizen, Permanent Resident or on a Student Visa.
