ANU-NICTA PhD Scholarship (Local Students)

Applications are generally accepted all year round. However, you are strongly encouraged to apply for an Australian Postgraduate Award and this scholarship closes on 31 October each year.

Scholarship Description

The NICTA Canberra Research Laboratory funds scholarships for students who are admissible to the ANU as PhD candidates and who successfully apply for NICTA-enhanced PhD supervision.

Stipend

$20,427 per annum (2009)

Maximum Duration

Three years with two possible extensions of a further six months each (conditions apply to extensions).

Australian and New Zealand citizens; Permanent Residents of Australia.

Other Eligibility Criteria

A minimum of 2nd Class Honours Division A Batchelor Degree or a Master degree from a recognised university.

How To Apply

You should check the current NICTA Research Themes and make informal contact with a NICTA researcher to obtain advice on the construction of a research proposal that would suit the NICTA research agenda.

Once you have support from a NICTA researcher, then you can apply for admission and/or scholarship on one form online or download an application form. Please indicate on your application that you are applying for an ANU-NICTA PhD scholarship as well as an APA or other scholarship.
