Information for Participants

Mode of Delivery & Module Assessment

The Program is offered on a fee-for-service basis. Modules can be taken individually. Each module commences with a minimum of 10 enrollments. The College reserves the right to cancel the module if enrolment is insufficient. The maximum number of participants in any module will be limited to ensure adequate personal interaction between the lecturer and participants. The delivery of each module will take into account the professional working conditions of senior staff. Therefore, each module will be given in a short intensive mode, involving approximately 12 hours of formal contact time, including lectures, tutorials, laboratories and formal assessment. Each module will have a written assessment component as an integral part of it to ensure that appropriate University standards are met, and to ensure uniformity across all modules. The College will issue a formal Certificate of Completion.

Timetabling

As part of the Australian National University’s Flexible Learning Initiative, this program introduces flexible patterns of study. The preferred arrangement is 4 hours per day: for example Thursday & Friday, from 4 pm to 8 pm, and Saturday, from 12 pm to 4 pm.

Place of Delivery

Lectures and laboratory classes will be held at the Australian National University. However, the flexibility of the program will allow for module delivery outside the University according to participant preferences.

Program Materials

Materials provided for each participant include:

• A textbook of lecture slides and tutorial notes.
• Instructions for practical laboratory exercises, as appropriate.
• Access to lecture notes on the ANU website.
• Access to flexible learning and assessment.

Minimum Enrolment & Schedule of Fees

A minimum of 10 fully paid participants is required prior to the commencement of any module in the program. The fee for each module is $1,650 (GST inclusive) per participant.
