Module F: Technology and Innovation Management

Module Description

This module has been designed to provide a broad introduction to contemporary approaches to innovation management. It focuses on the challenges for the effective management of innovation and is organised around three themes:
  1. frameworks to analyse the role of innovation in strategy;
  2. the range of tools and techniques for managing specific aspects of innovation;
  3. the development and management of innovative organisations.


Learning Outcomes

The course will develop an understanding of the role of innovation in organisational strategies; the characteristics of innovation processes and the factors that shape and drive innovation; the roles of incremental and disruptive innovation; the major tools that are used in innovation management.

Structure

The course is 12 hours in total spread over 3 days with 4 teaching hours per day. The course will consist of lectures, workshops and 1 hour of written assessment. Courses will be scheduled according to demand. Please contact Debbie Pioch to discuss.
