ABSTRACT:
Diagnosis of large discrete event systems is challenging because as the size of the system increases, we face the problem of combinatorial explosion. The distributed approach we have adopted breaks the diagnosis task down by using junction trees. We propose to extend our work by ignoring some connections on the system in order to reduce the cost of diagnosis. However, in doing so, the accuracy of the diagnosis also decreases. We perform an off-line study to determine the best trade-off between those two conflicting notions.
